Sustainable Place

When we speak of sustainable place we are referring to the built environment in which humans live, work and play. It involves aspects of planning, architecture, engineering and development that combine to create and recreate these ‘places’. Sustainable place is defined as a human built environment that is developed in a way that supports and promotes the economy, social activity, and education of its citizens while having minimal to zero negative impact upon the natural environment. Such places respect and protect the culture and history of the place while preparing and adapting it for the impacts of the future.
